The Radiance of Amber

Cosmic Epic, Family Rhythm

Inspired by the cosmic origin of gold—formed through neutron star collisions—the project translates the idea of “stardust solidified in time” into spatial language. Centered on the concept of “Amber Radiance,” the design integrates materiality, lighting, and circulation to shape a residence that preserves time and memory. Within a compact footprint, the space responds to the rhythms of a transnational lifestyle while transforming everyday experiences into perceptible and lasting spatial moments.

This project is designed for a transnational lifestyle, addressing the challenges of high-density living within a compact footprint. The core strategy lies in balancing spatial openness, functional efficiency, and narrative coherence.

An open-plan layout forms the foundation of the design, where visual continuity and layered boundaries replace rigid partitions. Rather than strictly separating public and private zones, the space allows for gradual transitions through material shifts and lighting conditions, supporting flexible patterns of use.

Material selection plays a key role in shaping spatial perception. Translucent stone and reflective surfaces are introduced to enhance depth and amplify natural and artificial light. The golden veining within the stone subtly shifts throughout the day, reinforcing the concept of time being captured and suspended.

In the dining area, a dynamic lighting installation evokes the movement of water, transforming the atmosphere from bright and fluid during the day to calm and immersive at night. Glass bricks and semi-transparent elements replace solid furniture, reducing visual weight while maintaining functional clarity.

Functional planning emphasizes adaptability and integration. Custom storage systems, movable components, and multi-purpose work zones allow the space to accommodate diverse daily activities. Acoustic treatment and dual-layer blackout systems further support flexible living patterns across different time zones.

Through the integration of light, material, and circulation, the project transforms everyday living into a sequence of perceptible moments—where time, memory, and spatial experience are subtly preserved.
